I attended a conference last year, organised by the Equal Opportunities Commission titled ‘Black and Asian Women moving to the top - what are the barriers?

Looking at the list of attendees, I noted that there was no specific organisation that would provide immediate peer support, encouragement and guidance to Asian Professional and Businesswomen.

Having developed a Training and Consultancy company, there have been numerous occasions, working in isolation whereby I had wanted to access like-minded women, seek guidance, share laughter and then move on the task on hand.

My philosophy became, if you want, do something about it.

As a result a platform for Asian Women was created – Asian Women Enterprise - acronym simple yet symbolic - AWE.
